2:30 pm: Musical Theatre Makers - Women/TGNC RoundtableDecember 28, 2020 – Musical Theatre Factory's Women/Trans/GNC Roundtable is a monthly virtual drop-in devoted to musical theater creators from marginalized genders.
About this EventMusical Theatre Factory's Women/Trans/GNC Roundtable is a monthly virtual drop-in devoted to musical theater creators from marginalized genders. We recognize that participants come from different lived experiences and perspectives that come out of class, environment, race, range of neurodivergence and range of physical mobility. We strive to lift up and support all voices. In this creative circle, artists are invited to share work and receive optional feedback. We provide a SAFE SPACE for new musical development, as well as a BRAVE SPACE to continue the ongoing conversation about the artistic and professional realities of being a woman, trans, or GNC artist. Join this rotating badass community of innovative musical theater makers (and some special guests!) as we support the development of new projects, challenge each other to push ourselves and our industry, and SUBVERT THIS MF'IN DOMINANT PARADIGM. The roundtable will run from 6-8pm, and we'll "open the house" at 5:30pm for some pre-roundtable gathering and conversation. We ask that everyone takes special care to remember that this space is specifically designed to uplift people of all marginalized genders. By participating, you're agreeing to respect each participant's identities fully and, in the event of unintentional harm, accept corrections and actively engage in harm reduction. You do not have to share in order to attend. Please register to share or to participate as a supportive community member. We can't wait to see you there! If you aren't sure if you want to share, please sign up with an "I Want to Share" ticket and you will have the option to change to an "I Want to Watch" ticket later. Please note that in order to accommodate for time, we have to limit our number of sharers beyond what we can generally accommodate at in-person roundtables. The earlier you sign up to share and the earlier you submit your materials (if you have materials to submit), the more likely you will be able to share. Everyone else who wants to share will be put on the “waitlist” and we’ll do our best to squeeze in more as time permits. “I Want to Share” tickets will close Saturday at 6pm (48 hours before the roundtable). Since space is limited, we will contact you via email 24 hours prior to the roundtable to let you know if you’re on the list to share or if you’re on the waitlist. “I Want to Watch” tickets will close on Monday at 5pm (1 hour before the roundtable). 7:00 pm: Feminine-of-Center * Middle-Eastern Queer Womyn & Trans Peer GroupDecember 28, 2020 – ~ Healing ourselves through healing our roots ~ To cocreate a safe space for [feminine of center] middle-eastern queer womyn and trans minorities to share our personal stories, struggles, and triumphs of surviving modern day challenges unique to this demographic(s); in hopes of fostering compassion and understanding through community support. 2nd & 4th Mondays 7:00pm - 9:00pm via Zoom $5-$10 suggested donation. Text-to-Donate: MEFEMME to 44321. No one turned away for lack of funds. To Join Group, Email: focmeqwtgroup@pacificcenter.org |

2:30 pm: Musical Theatre Makers - POC RoundtableJanuary 11, 2021 – [Please note that this is not a specifically QTPOC event. We've included it because the same org also has a women/TGNC roundtable, and because it's musical theatre, which leans heavily LGBTQIPA+. Unicorn March encourages QTPOC to flood both rooms! but also recognizes that it's possible that neither room will fill the bill.] Join us for Musical Theatre Factory's Virtual POC Roundtable! Please note that this space is exclusively for and by people of color. The People of Color Representation Roundtable exists as a one-of-a-kind monthly gathering wherein a room of artists of all disciplines may share work with and/or solicit feedback from a group that is wholly comprised of people of color. Part writers circle, part discussion forum/community building and part low-key performance salon, the POC Roundtable offers artists of color the rare experience of sharing work at any point in the development process with an all-POC brave space. The POC Roundtable seeks to radically uplift and provide connections for people of color interested in musical storytelling, by providing this rigorous space that will help finally flesh out the field and our culture. We ask that everyone takes special care to remember that this space is specifically and exclusively designed to support people of color interested in musical storytelling. By participating, you are agreeing to respect each participant's identities fully. In the event of unintentional harm, you are agreeing to accept corrections and actively engage in harm reduction. Any person of color interested in musical storytelling may attend with either an "I Want to Share" ticket or an "I Want to Watch" ticket. You do not have to share in order to attend. Please either register to share or register to watch (as a supportive community member). POC “I Want to Share” tickets will close 48 hours before the event, on Saturday at 6pm. Since space is limited, please note that you are not confirmed to share unless you receive an email from MTF 24 hours prior to the Roundtable saying that you will be sharing. Receiving an email from Eventbrite with a “I Want to Share” ticket doesn't guarantee your spot, though we will do our best to accommodate. If you do not receive a requested Sharing slot, you will still be able to attend and watch. POC “I Want to Watch” tickets will close an hour before the event at 5pm. Join in the Zoom room as early as 5:30pm (Eastern) when the house opens, to meet one another and hang before we get started! We can't wait to see you there! 7:00 pm: Feminine-of-Center * Middle-Eastern Queer Womyn & Trans Peer GroupJanuary 11, 2021 – ~ Healing ourselves through healing our roots ~ To cocreate a safe space for [feminine of center] middle-eastern queer womyn and trans minorities to share our personal stories, struggles, and triumphs of surviving modern day challenges unique to this demographic(s); in hopes of fostering compassion and understanding through community support. 2nd & 4th Mondays 7:00pm - 9:00pm via Zoom $5-$10 suggested donation.
